Mr. Biz wrote:surprisingly dark road isn't any different. it's the same thing with some gibberish lyrics. it's possible, but i'm not sure, there might be a different jessica kill somewhere. but i don't quite remember without finding it.
I was thinking in the same, because I was watching the first videos from the very beginning of SBM (when it would be an EP) and the drums part and some other things are the same. But have another question, moving away from the demo thing, the song "Believe" it's still considered to be completed on this new album?

Updated the first post with the snippets we've got so far.

Dec. 15th 2014
March 20th 2015
Dec. 25th 2015
Dec. 25th 2015 - 2

Doesn't sound like the Sum 41 I know. Then again, neither did SBM and Underclass at the time, and they turned up to be my favorite albums. :silly:

I literally took an hour away from visiting with my family for Christmas to sit in my room and listen to the two most recent Instagram updates over and over again. Sounds very promising. I really enjoy the energy and melodies coming from the vocals. It feels like an evolution of Holy Image of Lies chorus/vocals, at least for the first clip.

Damn this new sound is fucking great. Definitely new, but if I'd have to compare reminds me of DTLI but like 10 years later with evolved sound. Hard to say with such short clips but I'm stoked.

The best (and only) highlight of yesterday for me. I get major SBM feels from these (and a little UH), but I'm literally getting those same feelings I had when I listened to SBM album in it's entirety for the first time. I can sense me beating my SBM record listening to it for 8 hours on repeat. I've said it before, and I'll say it again; 2016 is definitely gonna be the year of the Sums!

Everything I've heard in the updates and all the bits of unfinished songs that I know of that are out there are really great. I'm getting really excited for this one.

Love the raw energy here and punkiness here combined with some what sound like really interesting melodies. What the world really needs now is some in-your-face music with attitude back to the radio. So far this album sounds like it could do that!

Am I the only one that thinks these clips suck?

I mean they're only 15 seconds, it sucks that they're not longer

Obviously they're amazing!

Yes, I think he is saying he wishes the clips were longer.

I wonder if they are both part of the same song or different songs. I don't really wish to know right now, I suppose so I can be surprised when listening to the album for the first time. I just remember back before Screaming Bloody Murder dropped that there were three parts of seemingly different songs from the updates, and I wanted to know the title of each one, but it turned out they were all from Blood In My Eyes. I guess it's a testament to how eclectic the album turned out to be.

It is clear that Deryck reads us and cares about our opinions, the other day we talked about the Demos and the possible sounds of the new album, a few days after going and surprises us with this. Thanks again
