Cool that you got something new to listen to! :glad:

That cover was part of the Japanese release, so for me this was old news. :sosad:
But now I can have it on my Spotify playlists at least. :silly:

They should release more B-sides. Not sure why they keep hiding them, especially the OID acoustics, that Hopeless has control over.

There are a lot of them, they could easily release a B-side album full of unreleased songs.

From pre-HHOP days, there were titles like Leave, So Far Away, Fifties Song.
Here are two clips of unknown songs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYqsXBwHvlw
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfT2TOf5GrI?t=577 (@ 9:37)

Chuck era had a working title called Everything's Fine.

Underclass Hero had working titles called Pla, Nacho Libre, All Night Nippon, Declaration Of Independence.
There's also a clip of an unknown song.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKQf0mznHCA?t=18

Cone wrote and sang a Sum 41 song in 2008 that was supposed to be released "soon".

Operation M.D. song Like Everyone Else was supposed to be on SBM, it was recorded with Deryck's vocals, but never released.

SBM also had a working title called Believe. Here's a clip of that song.

Here's another clip from SBM era.

13 Voices had at least 6 songs unreleased. Here are clips of two of them.

Order In Decline had about 4-5 songs unreleased. Deryck said they are too good to be just bonus tracks.

Where did you learn that from??

I remember Steve answered a Q&A on their website in either 2007 or 2008, he said Pla became Speak of the Devil.

So Far Away is registered to ASCAP, the registry for the writing credits. That's a place where I've found a lot of the working titles. :silly:

The other two were from this.

Nope. That was Mr. Plow. If I remember correctly, Pla is a short/fast song, so I think it might be the one on that video.

Here's the Q&A post:

Question:

Hey sums, I'd like to say that I like your new album, but I'd be lying. I LOVE it. Anyway, here's my question: I think that on the Q&A deryck said that some working titles included "Nacho Libre", "Mr Plow", and "Pla". Which songs did those working titles correspond to?
asked by Spud17 on Jul 31, 2007 8:21pm

Answer:

"Pla" became a B-side and "Mr. Plow" became Speak of the Devil. I don't remember the other one.

Haha, back in the day I used to copy&paste some of the most interesting entries into a notepad file on my computer. I guess it paid off 13 years later. :silly:

Is there any detailed information about bonus songs? Are they from the same recording sessions, or maybe outtakes from SBM/Always sessions? There's not much information about them. To me Better Days and Black Eyes are sounding little different, more raw than rest songs on the album, but that might just be me. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and greetings!

B-sides hardly have any details about them, since the band never really talks about songs that didn't make the album.

SBM songs can be roughly divided to three eras.

1. The early EP
- A Dark Road Out Of Hell
- Jessica Kill
- Skumfuk
- Always (released with All The Good Shit)
- Black Eyes (re-recorded and released with 13 Voices)

2. SBM
- Reason To Believe (although most of it was written in Chuck era)
- SBM
- What Am I To Say
- Crash
- Back Where I Belong
- Exit Song
- We're The Same
- Believe (unreleased song)

3. Late additions
- Time For You To Go
- Baby You Don't Wanna Know
- Blood In My Eyes

The originals are listed under "13 Voices Japanese Deluxe Edition". The re-recorded ones are on "13 Voices B-Sides".

The latter half of the Better Days guitar solo is slightly different, and the drums on Black Eyes are re-recorded. Both songs have clearer vocals and better guitars. :silly:

Seems that the band has no idea about the "new" versions on Spotify. So now I'm thinking, instead of being remixed versions, they might actually be the demo versions of those songs. :silly:

Yeah, great find! For me versions from "13 Voices B-Sides" are definitely more polished and better produced than the originals that we knew(Drumming on those "first CD deluxe versions" reminds me more of Steve than Frank. They really might be actually demos from Always sessions).

Since people are posting rarities, I have one more;
https://www.facebook.com/mcshanmusic/vi ... 317498541/

Sure, its not a Sum 41 song but according to MC Shan (who also featured on What We're All about!) himself it's the band playing the music:

https://www.ballerstatus.com/2007/07/07 ... laborator/

Nothing too special sonically but I'm fairly sure most here would be unaware of this one!
