Benefit Concert: Billy Talent + Sum 41

Post by Dylan »

From an update email i got from Billy Talent:
So we are pleased to announce that we are coming back to one of our favourite cities in the world and this time we're coming with some friends to help out one of our nearest and dearest. We have had the pleasure of working with our lighting guy Dan for a million years and have travelled many, many miles together and he has been part of some of our most memorable shows. Our crew guys are our family. We care for them the same way we care for our families off the road and as you all know by now, we are very loyal, especially to one of our own.

Unfortunately, our dear friend Dan and his wife are going through one of the toughest times in their lives. They have an amazing three-year-old little boy named Xavier who is great little dude and has been to many of our shows and in August 2010 he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Stage IV.

He has since been getting some serious treatments in Canada and the US and is fighting for his life. While undergoing some intense procedures he is still doing it with a smile on his face and still being that special little boy that he is. They are an amazing family that is filled with love and hope and are trying their best to stay strong and get through this and hopefully all get to live long, healthy, happy lives together but they need help - our help and your help.

We, along with our very old friends and comrades in Sum 41, who Dan also works with, have decided to play a show at The Vogue Theatre in Vancouver on July 19 with all the proceeds raised going directly to Dan and his family to help offset their travel and medical bills for Xavier.

We truly hope that you all can make it. It's going to be a very special night for everyone and we hope that you can be part of it. Always remember, if someone falls, you pick them back up!

With lots of love and undying support for you all,

Ben
wish i could make it, two of my favourite bands! fuckk. maybe this could be the start of a Canadian tour? probably not.

Son of a bitch, this should go in the Tour section >.<

I didn't bother reading this.

Does Billy Talent really still exist or are they just playing this benefit concert together as a favor? I feel like they've been irrelevant for years other than that one song that hit an EA game once upon a time...
And I know I said I needed space,

but I know I can't be comfortable in my own skin.

So when I say I'm scared to be alone, you know I mean it,

I'm just not ready to leave my room.

Billy Talent is awesome

They're working on a 4th album. From what I understand their drummer has multiple scleroris so not sure if that has affected what they've been doing.

Billy Talent + Sum 41 would be awesome.

I want to fly, Can you take me far away, Give me a star to reach for, Tell me what it takes, And I’ll go so high, I’ll go so high, My feet won’t touch the ground, its my wings, That pull the strings, I bought these dreams, That all fall down

This is such a great cause and I'm glad Sum 41 are apart of it. Wish I could attend though. Hoping for more Canadian dates to come!
Also, lets hope we see some new songs from this show!

wtf ? it doesn't really matter who they're talking about, as they're talking about a good husband, and a good wife who care for each other, and mostly, for their child, a family like that does not fucking deserve all this problems ... I hope it's gonna end up well for them

What? Of course it does. I'd like to know if it's Dan Moyse, a guy I've met personally.

The fact that you don't care who they are talking about doesn't mean everyone here is as ignorant.

did you just ignore the rest of the post ?? in my WHOLE post, I explained that the meaning of my words is that it doesn't matter if it is Stevo, Tom, Deryck, Cone or Dan Moyse ...

the family mentioned in the text from the first post seems to be awesome, loving and peaceful, why the fuck should we hope that it's them and not the good old technician we all know ??

no matter who it is, it fucking sucks, and if you found just one thing ignorant about my first post, than sorry, but you must be pretty tired right now

Don't know, but he has done some monitoring for Sums. But who other Dan has worked for the Sums?

I don't think it's dan moyse, he's a drum tech and does monitoring, so I don't think they would call him the guy that does the lighting..

and a while ago he was in jamaica for like 3 weeks, I don't think he would go on such an expensive vacation if his son was in such a bad condition.

p.s.

He doesn't seem like someone who would settle with just 1 woman, he's called dan moyse the lady's choice for a reason(not really a valid point, whatever...)
