Chuck Acoustic EP

Post by Resident Skumfuk »

Wow. I have been a fan of Sum 41 years, and never took the time to the listen to the Chuch Acoustic EP. I listened to it tonight and I'm honestly really blown away. The music down to the core - the minimal editing on Deryck's voice - the clean and vibrant acoustic guitars. This EP is truly amazing, and to any of you that haven't given it a listen, I really recommend you do.

The Chuck era was truly the best time to be a Sum 41 fan with all the extra stuff that was put out. Actual b-sides, acoustic EP, live CD, documentary DVD...

I really liked No Brains and Over My Head. When Deryck yells/screams in those songs, it's just amazing. My favorite part.

Yes! I really hope they try to recreate this with SBM. All the extras are what makes me love a band even more.

the sums were easily at their artistic high during the chuck era and this ep proves it. one of the handful of 5-star songs on my mp3 (maybe 35 of about 2000 are) is the acoustic version of there's no solution. deryck's vocals during the bridge before the final chorus get me every time.

No Brains acoustic is one of the best things the Sums ever done! Great EP indeed, would love to see something like that for SBM since they already having Reason to Believe as an acoustic b-side.

Bumping topic!

Anyone know where they recorded these? Deryck's house? Proper studio? They probably aren't from acoustic radio shows. Any info would be nice. They kinda sound like they might have recorded them live in studio and added some backing vocals afterwards.

The booklet doesn't have any info about where they were recorded, so I don't know for sure. But they do sound like they were recorded in a studio, with all those backing vocals and all. And I'm not sure if Deryck had his own home studio yet back then?

As Tomi said, I'm pretty sure they recorded it in a studio, but I really doubt Deryck had his studio back then...
