Sum41
i'm so excited i can't even type shit right
Sum41
i just recorded with snare drum that was used on November Rain. Big Red rules
OMFG, I am so excited, this has gotta be their best sounding record like, I mean Foo Fighters, Echos, Silence, Patience and Grace sounded great, so clean and just rockin'

cannae wait now, love ya Sum 41! They deserve a big break cos there so under-rated and a very good band, Green Day and Foo's have shone, now it would be nice if Sum 41 got their big break on the scene!

The cover over the kick drum ensures that there is a more focused amount of low frequency sounds in the recording. Typically, a kick drum outputs a sound somewhere in the region of between 20 - 800 Hz, which can travel through walls and objects far easier than mid and high frequencies. The cover dampens this significantly and makes sure that the low end doesnt muddle up the recording and/or bleed into other areas.

It's interesting to note that there are a number of copacitor microphones set up to capture ambience around the room - this could be a technique they're using to get that "big" sound that Deryck was referencing earlier.

this is some serious shit
Children of the beast embrace,
To scorn and the human race,
Consume the light that hugs the earth,
And aid the womb in giving birth,
To a group that will appear,
And guide you through this final year,
The dark armies then will come,
When the sum is 41

Well, if they are gonna finish until March its gonna be like with UH, cuz UH was recorded between November 2006 and March 2007, so we can expect for a July release if the mixing and mastering won't take too long. On the other hand, the way this album goes, I won't be surprised if they will stay in the studio until April or whatever, just like pre-pro started later than planned, and so is the recording now haha.

I don't understand how can it take so long.
My simple studio math:

Drums - 1 week
Bass - max 1 week
Guitars - 2-4 weeks
Vocals - 2 weeks
Piano - max 1 week
Other shit - 1 week
Mixing & mastering = 2 weeks
