Drummers are F***d up!

so my band has been together for almost a year now, and we just entered into the battle of the bands at my school. the posters are up all around my school with our name and everything; this was my one goal this year at high school. the problem is, just this week, AFTER we enrolled in battle of the bands, and set up 4 gigs over the next few months (which he encouraged), he goes off, tells some stoners he's quit (knowing im about the most anti-drug person there is) and lets the rumor get to the rest of us, then casually says yes when we ask if the rumor is true. he says he left because he doesnt have enough time anymore because of track(which started a month ago, i may add). THEN i found out today that he's had a practice with some other band this weekend. is it just me or is this whole situation bullshit?

we've had to drop out of battle of the bands...we couldnt find anyone who could be ready in 2 weeks....THIS SUKS!

Dude same thing just happened to me, ou drummer had to leave the band because he lives abut half an hour out of town and he justcan't get a ride to practice anymore but it sucks cause we were all looking forward to our BotB too. I feel your pain man

Its all part of being in band im afraid, school bands dont often (but not never) work out well, once you get out into the world you can search for more commited musicians and its gets a lot better from there. Best of luck to you guys though

I know.. Some drummers really suck :( our first drummer was to unexpired so he quited, our second drummer didn't show at a rehearsels what made us pissed, and now we finally have a god of drummer!

Yeah, I've had my fair share of troubles with drummers before. Luckily, every member in my current band is really committed to what we're doing, so that's good.
