Drama Queen - Green Day b-side?

Post by TomiT14 »

I bought a Finnish magazine, where they had an exclusive interview with Billie Joe.
He told the song meanings song-by-song for the new album.
The interview took place before the album had come out, so the tracklist has some old titles:

-"Song Of The Century" being titled as "Intro"
-"East Jesus Nowhere" being "March Of The Dogs"
-"American Eulogy" being divided to "This Riot Sucks" and "Modern World"

Then there are two songs, "Drama Queen" and "Desperate". Then again, the tracklist doesn't include "Murder City", so my guess is that "Desperate" was the working title for it.

But what song is "Drama Queen"? The two tracks on Know Your Enemy single doesn't fit with that title, so are there more tracks floating around? Like in UK/Japan editions?
Or maybe it's something we have to wait and see. :silly:

i read the song meaning and it doesn't seem to fit in any of the new songs i've heard, so i guess they just left this song behind

Desperate was the working title for Murder City. Drama Queen was cut so that Murder City could be on album I hope he hear it as a B side soon.

Yeah, I hope the 21 Guns has some cool b-sides/s. Hearts Collide from Know Your Enemy single was pretty cool.

Well, It seems like Drama Queen is nowhere. Apparenly, like it that old interview mentioned, the song does exist but its not a b-side on the album... Its not on the 21 Guns single. The b-side for 21 Guns is Favorite Son, an old song released on Rock Against Bush compilation and that was also a b-side on American Idiot. Maybe this will be a b-side on the next single of the album. Weird they play a totally unreleased song live, unless its an upcoming release.

Well, considering Green Day are more successful than most punk bands, like Sum 41, and bands like Sum always release at least 3 singles, GD will have to have at least 3 singles, although I'm sure like with AI, they gonna have here also like 5 singles.

I bet East Jesus Nowhere gonna be the next single. Christian's Inferno, Viva La Gloria? (Little Girl), American Eulogy and Restless Heart Syndrome also have good chances to become singles, I think.

I hope Restless Heart Syndrome gets released as a single. That song is boss.

Yeah, its awesome. It was actually rumored to be the 2nd single before 21 Guns was released, so I dunno if 2 slow songs as singles is good, but the song is ace, yeah.

Well, on AI, they had Boulevard and Wake Me Up When Sept. Ends.

Yeah, I think either East Jesus Nowhere (they already played it live on David Litterman show if I remember correctly), or The Static Age (in an interview when asking about how people who have never listened to GD would start listening to them, BJ said people are going to love The Static Age.)

Yeah, now that you mention it, it's very likely The Static Age would end up being a single. It's a radio-friendly one that one.

If someone didn't know, the third single of the album is East Jesus Nowhere and it's going to be out October 19th. So I was thinking right. :silly:

And sorry to bring this up again, didn't feel like this deserved a new thread.
