I've been writing this over the course of the past few days. I usually write about really happy stuff, so this is me trying to expand my writing ability. Let me know what you think, and post some options for a name if you think of any.
She paces her room, in time with her metronome,
She needs to get out, this house is no fucking home
Screams from across the hall echo through her ears,
She glances at the cuts on her arms and bursts into tears.
He throws open her door, with whiskey in hand,
He hits his daughter to the floor, he's no fucking man.
"Get out of my house, now." was all that he said,
As he left her room and stumbled off to bed.
She rises to her feet and wipes the tears from her eyes,
She sprints downstairs and into the stormy night skies.
Looking east and west, without a clue where to go,
She lowers her head and runs off into the snow.
She whispers, "what have I gotten myself into, now?"
She made a vow, she would leave this God-forsaken town.
She could start a new life, and let go of her past,
But she needed a plan, and she needed one fast.
She had walked for miles, or though it had seemed,
Crippled by exhaustion, she fell asleep and dreamed,
It was a dream of a better life, a life without pain,
She woke to find it was only a dream, a trick of the brain.
She needs to get out, this house is no fucking home
Screams from across the hall echo through her ears,
She glances at the cuts on her arms and bursts into tears.
