itunes genres?

why does one band have different genres for each album? like plain white t's has 3 different genres for 4 albums. how do they come up with them?

they change styles of music- like pop punk to emo

but its not just that. the stupid category "alternative & punk" like almost every cd i own is under that genre. thats why i want to know how the decide what goes under what. cause i don't think good charlotte should be in the same category as the casualties. that is what bothers me.

it's a random thing they do. I'm not sure how they come up with them. When an artists submits there tracks to itunes, they use those genres, but if they don't have genres, they just put something random in there,,, i think

I know, I'll upload the same band and it's like Pop, Rock, Pop/Rock. Like what the hell?

Anyways, I usually just manually change mine according to my own objective opinion. I also do not like how so many bands can fit into Alternative & Punk when some bands shouldn't be there.
