I'm a member at EA Sports' hockey gaming fansite called The Breakaway Network, http://www.thebreakaway.net/

There they have this feature, that the ones who have donated, are considered as "Sponsors."

There are some limitations on the site, e.g. for sig and avatar sizes.
Once you donate, you are able to have bigger avatars and sigs for one year.
There's also a forum section for sponsors only.

For $12 or more a year, users receive:
- custom avatar
- custom title
- larger signature (50,000bytes)
- access to the members lounge
- private message storage to 200.

So my suggestion is to create a same kind of system here.
It encourages people to donate, and at the same time they get something back themselves.

This is just my suggestion, but it worked at TBN.

here's the thing, an awesome site i go to, called football-freaks.com has a thing were you can donate via paypal and you get a "sponsor" label. i would love for TNS to do this as i would definately be a regular contributor.
