There was a bombing in Boston during the Boston Marathon. Many were hurt and I believe a few were killed. Whoever does this is just plain sick, there is no where safe in this world. Pray for everyone in Boston.

The Westboro Baptist Church are saying that the attacks are God's revenge for gay rights. Also, #Muslims is trending on Twitter. Faith in humanity = lost.

As some one who works as a justice officer, I'm pretty sure this isn't a big terrorism attack.

why? If you see how many people are at the finish line and how less impact the bombs have. Also 'just' three deaths. It's all pretty amateurism. If it where a professional gang there would be way much more people killed..

But of course, I'm also shocked and my thoughts are to all the people in boston

-Terrorism isn't defined by the amount of casualties.
-The high density of the crowd is what saved a lot of lives, the people standing around the bomb took the majority of the blow.
-The bomb was filled with tiny pieces of metal like in a nail bomb, so they might have wanted to just injure a lot of people which they did.

Humankind makes me sick sometimes, I wonder if you guys would have heard about if this happened in Madrid, my guess ? No you wouldn't, people only seem to care about this kind of "events" , sick events mind you, when it happens in the USA.

I hope they catch the sickfuck who did this, the victims deserve some justice.

Of course that's true. 40 people were killed in a bombing in Iraq days before this, but attacks on Americans always are blown out of proportion because A: Americans blow absolutely everything American out of proportion and B: American media dominates the online world. Nobody would give a shit about 9/11 nowadays if it happened in any other country.

This the most ignorant thing I've ever read.

It actually isn't.
In the same year, just months before 9/11, 22000 people were killed when an earthquake hit india.
That's over 4 times as many deaths but I haven't heard anyone else talk about, I'd be surprised if you even knew about it.
Same with Boston, 31 people were killed in a bombing in iraq, that's 10 times as many casualties.
I'd be surprised if you even knew about this as well.

I chose the Indian and Christchurch earthquakes for a study I was doing a year ago because I knew about the events beforehand.

I'm aware of the cafe bombing in Baghdad a few days ago and the car-related bombing as well.

To say nobody would give a shit if it happened in any other country is absurd. It's true, many Americans would shrug it off and say something as ignorant as "you deserved it", but there's people who actually keep an eye on the news going on in the world.
