Ok, I posted this over at 182o as well and here again because I know some of you are tech nerds and I'm hope to fuck someone can help me.

You see, I've had my iPhone for a few months now and now neither of the volume buttons on the side work. They just stopped working all of a sudden so I have no idea what caused it. The minus one stopped working probably around two weeks ago, then today the plus one stopped as well.
I can still press in on them and they click, but it just doesn't work.

I googled the problem and it said it was the hardware and that they'd fix themselves on their own. But they haven't. And I really don't want to send my phone away...

Any advice would be appreciated :)

Probably Toronto, Ontario which is four, or five depending on what you include, west of me. Or Montreal. So I'd have to ship it there either way.

Yuuuup. The buttons haven't been working for around two weeks.

did you try restoring the firmware?

You should look on ebay or something like that.. There's a lot of people fixing iPhones at home.

Good point.. I never bothered to take it to an apple store cause the warranty on my iPhone expired a long time ago

I would say try to force restore the phone. But back up all your contacts, music, photos, etc. before you do. If that doesn't work then get Apple to send you a new one.
