Sum 41 blown away by Durban winds

The concert by Sum 41, Zebra & Giraffe, and three other artists in Durban on Friday 5 August was cancelled after severe winds rendered the stage area unsafe.

According to a statement from promoters Hilltop Live, their decision was made in conjunction with the Wave House venue, and the artists after first postponing performances in the hope that the wind would die down.

When the wind got "stronger and more irregular", it was decided to "put the safety of the artists, fans and crew first and call off the concert".

"Fans of Sum 41 can be assured that this was not a decision taken lightly," the statement continued. "Organisers and artists alike wanted the show to happen but in the end the possible alternatives were just not something that one could risk."
