Problem with my band?

Hello. I'm not really much active here, but I've been banned from the forum I usually hang in, so I thought I'd come here asking for advice.

First a little background information.
I play in a band with 4 other people. We're playing a gig in 5 days, but only with 3 of us, and a new singer.
The reason we have a new singer for this gig is because I was told by the lead guitarist (I play bass), that the singer and the other guitarist wouldn't be able to play that gig. I thought nothing of it, and guessed that they were probablyh busy or something.

About 10 minutes ago, I was done rehearsing with my band. Everyone I play with live about 30 minutes away from me, so I always go there when we play.

Anyway, when we were done, I walked up from the basement where we played, and I ran into our old singer, and the other guitarist. They asked what I was doing here, so I said I was playing with the others, since I was sure they already knew.
The conversation went something like this:

Me: "I was playing with the others, and (new singer)"
Old singer: "New singer? Why?"
Me: "Just for the next gig we have. Didn't you know?"
Other guitarist: "What gig? I havenæt heard anything about it."
Me: "Really? I thought (guitarist) talked to you, and you said you couldn't make it?"
Old singer: "No, we haven't heard anything about it."

So, I don't know. Could there have been some sort of misunderstanding? Or were they left out on purpose?

TL;DR: Guitarist and drummer in my band might have lied to me and kicked out two other members. But maybe not. What to do?

It's fine as long as you don't get kicked out.
If they hadn't told you, they're probz trying to kick you out too, they're just waiting till they find a new bass player.
Life's a bitch, get used to it man.

Just straight up ask your guitarist and drummer what the hell is going on. It sounds to me like they're lying to you, so I would quit the band and start another band with your old guitarist and singer. Good luck :)

:hehe: I'm not a good dancer.

On topic though, I just got home. I talked to the guitarist about it, and he said that he didn't know that, but maybe there had been some misunderstandings. I honestly don't think he lied to anyone. The drummer, I'm not so sure about.

And I don't think they want me out. We're great friends, and we have fun playing together :)
And I'm not quitting willingly. It's one of the best bands I've been in. We're even kinda local famous.

I guess I will just have to wait and see. Thanks for the replies!

Oh, and they're not kicked out of the band. It's only for the next gig we have.

If you feel someone want to kick you out of the band, try to convince the others to kick him out before. First-come, first served.

Oh, and don't forget. If you are young enough and didn't do anything. The change you'll be free in 3-5 years.

In Belgium.

Remove their penises and mail them back to them piece by piece, and to each piece staple a bit of paper with "with love from 'the phantom'" written on it :devious:
