You'd have thought so but it runs everything else fine. I think it might be Ad Block on Chrome sucking up the CPU but I could be wrong.Jake! wrote:if a web browser murders your PC, you need a new PC.
Chrome's memory usage varies, with one tab, chrome uses much more than Firefox, but as you have more open, it will even out and chrome will eventually start using less...
But it runs each tab, extensions and plugins as their own process, so, if one page on one tab crashes, it won't take the whole browser with it. But it can mean it uses more CPU time.
The recently closed tabs, searchable history and the top sites home page are all very nice features too.

I tried to open that WebGL demo but it said my browser didn't support it.. I'm using google chrome.. *epic fail*Jake! wrote:it's 9, and I dislike it.Gregorovich wrote:I have the IE10 beta and it wins outright over chrome. The only good thing about it is the Javascript speed.
Which chrome is going to cock slap in v10... Have you seen that?! omg. it's jizzworthey.
Another plus for chrome, ok, it's not widely used atm... But.
WebGL graphics are amazing. And if it takes off, could make the internet much more amazing place. It;s already much faster than java/flash
WebGL demo - only works in chrome
Java
but I'm totally satisfied with google chrome.. beats every other browser by far

Re: Google Chrome
I hated Chrome when I first downloaded it. I did not understand why I'd want to use it.
However, ever since I downloaded the latest version of Firefox, that browser has been trash. It has crashed way too many times on me. It basically goes on lock down every time I try to open it. It will open up, and then I will start typing in a page to visit, and it will say "firefox is not responding". I am sure that's something wrong with my PC, but basically, Firefox has been absolute shit for me over the past 3-6 months.
I eventually switched to Chrome just because I knew it would be faster to begin with. I moved all of my browser history over to Chrome, and I made it my default. I have realized that I absolutely love the feature that you type in one letter, and it already has the page you're looking to go to picked out for you. On firefox, it had a similar feature, only I had to move the down arrow to get to the page (if I didn't feel like typing it all in).
I also downloaded a tab page that loads up my top 20 sites (of choice, not based on most visited), and I can change the count to 10, 30, 75, etc. Just about any number I want can be shown on the screen. I really like that about this thing I downloaded. Very cool feature.
Overall, Chrome is easily my fastest, most durable browser. I never have crash problems with it, and I love the fact that the only items I see at the top of my browser are the page link I am on, and the different tabs. I hate having to see a bunch of other toolbars at the top of the page, and I never have to with Chrome.

Got Firefox, it slowed down by the time
got opera, it slowed down by the time
have Chrome - satisfied.
don't ask me how did it happen, I don't know it. And no - virus is not a problem. It just happened by using.

I find Firefox for Ubuntu to be ugly because it used the humanity icon theme.FuckT41182 wrote:I use Ubuntu and so logically I also use Firefox ...and I am more satisfied with it then with my dick, which is really beautiful ...I can adjust the Firefox exactly as I want it to and so I can work easier and faster ...and it have never crashed for me,it always fucking works perfect ...but not in Windows on my PC,but here on my notebook which is running under Ubuntu,it works fucking amazing ...
Although you could try Chromium, it's the 100% open-source back-end that Google Chrome is uses. I basically the exact same browser except it doesn't have any of the "Google" branding.
Code: Select all
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:chromium-daily/stable
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install chromium-browser
