Ubuntu 10.04 Manual

Post by Boni »

For those that use Ubuntu 10.04 or would like to more about it before you even try it, the community has released a beginners manual for the public. It's currently in it's beta but it has hit it's writing freeze so basically all that is left right now is the translations.

It's in PDF format and only about 4MB, it's a pretty good resource for any user weather advance user or just a beginner. Sadly, I had no part in writing for it but I was planning on joining the team but I had too much on and didn't even try.

Topics include, tutorials on how to install Ubuntu either as a sole install or a dual-boot with Windows/Mac OS/Other Linux Distro. Hardware and Software Management; How the GNOME desktop works and of course some guides on how to secure your system which is always important.

Anyway, for those that would like to own a copy (legally I might add), here's the link:

Enjoy TNS!

Please Note: This guide is intended for Ubuntu Lucid Lynx (10.04) which is currently in Beta stage. The final product will be released on 29th April 2010. Saying this though, most things this guide talk about will also work with Ubuntu Karmic Koala (9.10).
