Before moving this to the tech support forum, please realize that nobody reads that sectiona and this is sort of urgent.
Okay. I have a problem. My computer got a real nasty virus that really messed with it. I can no longer access the Internet on it. The virus is gone, but now, every time I open the Internet (in any browser) it doesn't work. In IE8, I open it up, and it says "Internet explored could not display the webpage" I try to type in another Url, and it says "the adress is not valid" and the adress br reads "http:///"
I'm thinking the virus changed some system setting (it got to my d: drive) and did something to prevent my Internet from working on the comp.
I spent 2 hour on the phone with AT&T technical support, and they couldn't figure it out.
I've tried google searching my problem, which displayed some results, but none of that worked.
I've tried alot of things to fix this, and none of them worked. I know it's not the Internet because my sisters comp. And my iPod can connect perfectly fine.
Anyone have any clue what to do to fix it?
And if it's something really advanced, try and dumb it down for me...
Right now I'm at the stage where My only hope is to backup my files and do a system restore.
If I can get this fixed, I'll be able to come back on TNS and post regularly!!!
