no no no...you got it all wrong (sorry for my lack of being here..so)
basically heres what happened:
Erik slept at the hotel in colorado, which burnt down in his sleep. Everyone died...
except for erik. As he woke up, only his room was left standing, while everyone else's had fall down and apart. After searching through the personal items of everyone else, Erik has found 3 KEYS! to 3 CARS! and $20
(erik, you can do whatever you want with your other 2 cars)

He puts all his dedication into this books and expects it to be a success. He then send this book to an editorial expecting an answer soon. This process took 5 dollars.*
