i beg to differ. They are your only two land borders :P You are a kind of peninsula between the two.Janet wrote:Aha! Incorrect! The latter page 3 made me laugh my ass off.
As for the language thing, I just want to say that it's hard to learn a language when you're already an adult who's used to speaking your mother tongue for however many years. English is one of the hardest languages to learn because it's so nit-picky. I mean... there, their and they're? Here and hear? Two, to and too? That's got to be confusing for someone who doesn't know english to learn that it has words that sound exactly the same but mean different things. But I also think immigrants should learn some of the basics, like greetings and all that.
As for the swine flu... I don't think we'll die. But yeah, kids and older adults with weak immune systems will probably die from it.

It's because the roots of english come from so many places. Old English, French, Latin, some Norse i believe and many more.Jeremy Kill wrote:English is one of the hardest languages to learn because it's so nit-picky. I mean... there, their and they're? i beg to differ jeremy is not one of the hardest , the grammar is quite easy any latin language has a harder grammar for a non native speaker plus the verbs are alot harder although english that thing taht annoys me called phrasal verbs ...just my opinion but i agree those words can be confusing sometimesJeremy Kill wrote:The latter page 3 made me laugh my ass off.

it's easier to learn a language when you are a kid cos you know kids are like sponges they absorb everything

And as someone else said, we do have to allow people to come into America legally and there is nothing that constitutes that they have to speak English.
