yea bootcamp....but thats if u have mac preinstalledboniboyblue wrote:No but there is a program for Macs that do the same job, but I don't like Macs you ask someone else or find it on google.Shiv wrote:hey, can i use this with leopard?boniboyblue wrote:Yes, Installing Windows 7 will most likely install over Windows XP and might lose all your data, what alot of people are doing is either installing on another Hard Drive or partition for a dual-boot.
But the easiest way would be to download Microsoft Virtual PC which I use at college alot as it can be used for simulation purposes, it's a free download from Microsoft. Here is the link.

It's good bit of Software, it can even install Ubuntu if you fancy giving this a try.
NOTE: Virtual PC acts like a program as in start it from your start menu. It will not damage your existing Windows Install. If I believe correctly Jake is currently using the beta through it so if you have any question I suggest you ask him.

Re: Windows 7 Beta Discussion
Pfft. Let me sort you all out.
Windows 7 is amazing. The reason they arn't just releasing updates to Vista is:
1. They can make more money from a new OS.
2. Vista has a really bad image. Its better to start new.
Only install Windows 7 on another machine or a Hard Drive you arn't using because they are going to kill the beta after 6 months so you will be stuck with nothing. If you've already installed it over your pimrary OS then you can just hope someone will release a hack to keep W7 forever (will probably happen eventually).
People who are saying the task bar is a copy of OS X. It's not, its obviously very different and is the largest Windows update for a very long time and it's about time Microsoft stopped having so much pride and refusing to copy other great ideas. If that's not good enough for you then you should know that OS X copied the task bar from Linux.

@max
The release date for 7 is targetted for June so as long as u buy it sooner rather than later or still have your original OS disk and key you should be fine as the beta will die in august.

Re: Windows 7 Beta Discussion
I'm using the latest Windows 7 beta build at moment 7057, unless there's new one already, lol, had already tried build 7000, it's bit of bugger to keep cracked though, am finding bit annoying of that purpose,
however have to say runs sweet as nut, vista ran ok for me too, it's good new dual core pc i got year go with vista home premium, i thought vista was alright, but it did have lot problems with certain things, this an that, but with windows 7 for what I have tested so far, works great, and boots up in seconds as vista took well bit longer, I have to say I love Windows 7, it kicks vista's ass out the water, this is basically what vista was meant to be a proper working system.
I would love a mac though for recording and for photoshop and media.

but most recording studio's and big graphics company's use mac as they're more friendly for recording and smoother in designing, but yeah i do prefer windows though to mac, but do love my ipod+an itunes, but just
cos I have digidesign mbox an trying to get it an pro tools workin with windows is nitemare, but one friend mine said he cud get it going, i mean i got it workin, but kept getting buffer errors as pro tools requires dedicated hard drive an usb is no no and thing ended up corupt few times, but he said if i buy another internal hard drive which am goanna, he said it shud work better lot then, so wish me luck when i get one, lol
