PLEASE HELP ME! Problem with my hard disk Error 0x8007045d

Postby Andros on Sat Mar 24, 2012 7:12 am

Hey guys! I have a problem with my hard disk, well is a long story, but in summary. I can not install any operating system because it seems my hard drive is damaged, because when trying to reinstall Windows 8, the pc froze and had to turn it off, and accidentally I delete the recovery program that brings the PC, so I can't do that. I had to do many things to reach that conclusion. First when I try to install Windows 7 or Windows 8, when I get to the part where I choose where I want to install it, I do not see my hard drive, and tells me I have to find the drivers of this, when I search the drivers, at first I recognized my system partition and logical partition. But I could not install Windows on the system partition, much less on logic partition. Then I read that I must delete the partitions and create a new, first could delete the system partition, but then I could not delete the logical partition. Then try to create a new partition in the deleted partitoin and appeared to me this error 0x8007045d 'Windows can't be installed in this disk, this computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.' and 'Failed to create a new partition on the selected unused space Error 0x8007045D'
I'm tired of looking for alternatives in different parts, I don't care losing my files, all I need is install an OS again. I've tried with Hiren's BootCD but when I try to choose whatever option can't load the files
I think all I need is a Low Level Format, but I don't know how do that. But I don't know if my pc need a low level format. Please guys help me! I'm desperate! My pc is a netbook Acer Aspire One 532H with Windows XP Home. Intel Atom, 1gb Ram. Thanks guys!

Right.

Load the default/failsafe options in your BIOS.

Is the HDD plugged in correctly? Try removing/reinserting it.
Is the disk is set as dynamic or basic?

You'll be able to format using a ubuntu live CD or the likes if the drive isn't totally buggered.

I wouldn't bother installing anything newer than XP with 1GB of RAM.

Yes! The HDD it's plugged correctly, and I don't know if the disk is set as dynamic or basic :sosad: where I can see that? And with the ubuntu live cd I can create a new partition? Thanks so much!

Yes it will create a new partition, but make sure you select NTFS if it allows it, or FAT32 if it doesn't.

It depends how you plan on booting it - either from a CD or USB drive. If it's from a CD, just burn the ISO like normal, From USB there's a tool on the ubuntu website that will make a udb drive bootable - But not all Laptops/PCs support usb booting

Not sure about that one :/ Don't recall it ever taking too long to load.

The menu option used to me "Try Ubuntu" or something... I don't know if it changed.

Sorry for the double post but, I've already try to install Ubuntu Live CD 10.04 this works and load good, but when I try to install I have this errors: Input/output error during read on /dev/sda and after that this: the ext4 file system creation partition #1 is SCSI 1 (0,0,0) (sda) failed.
Can you help me about this?

Thanks! I find that, but I don't understand, now I'm in a live version, but I don't know where I can find the HDD, in the Disk Utility only show me the HDD and say:

Vendor: Intel Corporation
Model: N10/ICH7 Family SATA AHCI Controller
Revision: -
Driver: ahci
Fabric: Serial ATA
Numer Of Ports: 4

And that's all! So I don't know where I can create a partiton to installa Windows or Ubuntu

I wouldn't even bother formatting using the Ubuntu LiveCD. I would just delete all partitions and leave an empty hard drive with no file system. I never have fully trusted Ubuntu's ability in duplicating NTFS. Assuming that your hard drive chipset hasn't been damaged Windows will detect empty or hard drives with no partitions. I would also say that installing Windows 7 with only 1GB of RAM is one very daft idea. Stick with XP for now until you get a more powerful Laptop.

He downloaded the alternative LiveCD instead of the normal one.
