As a bass player myself i thought it was good, surprised there was no bass covers of JK actually. It's kinda bass heavy, erm how long have you been playing? I guess you haven't tremolo picked too much, it wasn't bad it just takes practice and confidence, i always find it easier wihtout a pick depending on how fast i need to play something. Good cover and may i say SEXY BASS! :silly:

definitely work on the fast picking patterns. when i play fast patterns like that i play closer to the bridge, otherwise i just use my fingers.

thanks mate, i changed the pickguard and the bridge...I've been playing for almost 3 years. I don't usually use a pick while playing, but for the style of the song the bass has to have a sharp attack each note. I'll work on the tremolo picking part though...haha!

It's easier to play fast picking down there, but i'd still try with my fingers :glad:

Yuhuh, JK should be played with a pick. I should give this a run through sometime.

finger style can play faster near the bridge because the strings are tighter. but with tremolo picking, and using a 1.14 pick- i find it easier to pick at the neck pick-up area because the string vibrates easier without my pick having to eat through the strings.

I tend to find when i need to pick and finger faster, down near the bridge works equally well enough. But you're right, i'm just stuck in my way of playing i guess haha.

about your bass, is that a stock squire jazz or did you change the pick ups? if so, how much were they to buy/put in?

i love the sound of a fender jazz, but i don't have 1600 to spend right now and im curious to see if i can alter a squire to sound like a fender jazz.

the pickups are the squier stock's. The bass was 300 dollars. You can definatley alter a squier to sound like a fender jazz bass. Just change out everything to your likings. Definatley change the bridge though- cause the fender stock bridge is poop...I chnaged mine to a Babicz (they're the best!!), but Badass II's are pretty good too
