i don't understand all the hate RA gets for Appeal Reason. It was a mature, controlled yet totally amazing-sounding response to the problems plaguing the modern world. it had more variety than previous albums, and there isnt a song on there which comes anywhere near filler. songs like saviour, collapse, audience of one and from heads unworthy come as a benchmark in RA's career- in previous albums, there were only certain memorable tracks such as rumors of my demise and ready to fall.

I really hope this album is similar to Appeal, but with a bit more of a raw edge.

To me ATR wasn't a bad record if it would have been done by any other band but as a Rise Against record it was a dissapointment. On RPM, SSOCC and TSATW there isn't one bad song (okey, maybe The Approaching Curve) and the music is just much much better, with more interesting guitar leads, awesome basslines and great drums, on ATR it's all pretty basic.

Yeah I agree. I don't think ATR is bad.. it's pretty good album, it's just a disappointment if you compare it to their earlier stuff, and that's what you get.. just a mediocre RA album, though it's not bad at all and there are songs on there like Re-Education (Through Labor) which is one of my all time RA faves.

So I was browsing iTunes and I saw that Rise Against have a new single out called "Architects." I clicked on it, but it wasn't available in Canada yet, so I couldn't hear a preview.

After I heard the intro on RA's official website I was pumped for this song! Then I heard a preview on it somewhere and I got a bit disappointed. But the full song has really grown on me, I like it.

hey thanks for sharing that. i like it already. the first single took a while before i got into it, but this one got my attention right away.

i heard those previews too and i'm slightly disappointed, but i think the album would have to grow on me before i can appreciate it.

Ive only discovered RA within the last year, but i think theyre one of the best punk bands out there and despite what many say, appeal to reason was a great album and this looks to be a promising follow-up

I downloaded the song and I'm listening to it right now. I have to admit that I didn't really like help is on the way and my excitement for the album went down after hearing it but now with architects I'm just as excited as I was before :) I like it alot :)

This song should have been the first single, it's got more energy. but i still have a feeling that this album with be a cookie cutter duplicate of Appeal to Reason, just a little different. not that Appeal to Reason was a bad album, it was good. it just didn't have the fuck you energy that RPM had. i see Rise Against continuing to produce albums for a long time.

haha also Against Me! reference in the bridge "Do you remember when we were young and we wanted to set the world on fire?"

Well, I liked that one. It was pretty good.. kinda of. Not like any good like Sufferer & the Witness or Siren Song stuff, but definitely a level up from APR, or like a good APR cut hehe. It was better than Help Is on the Way though, so I agree it should've been the first single instead.

Is it the official second single and was released as a single already? or it just leaked?
