Well, this has to be the promotional tour for SBM!! So I guess after announcing the French date, they announced these, and there's a Czech date on the way, they're rounding up a full tour for 2011. They have at least to release the first single in January to be released with that tour!

Re: Sum 41 in Italy, February 2011
I always used to think when people asked the band about touring that the stupidest question they could ask is, "Are you guys coming to Canada????"
But lately, I've been feeling that that wouldn't be too bad of a question to ask!

If Warped doesn't count, and the summer of 2009 tour with The Offspring wasn't their headlining tour, I'd say the last time they had proper tour in North America was in spring 2008.Bobby Skumfuk James wrote:when was the last American/Candian tour they did?

I don't even think they played a show in Alberta, Canada since fall 2007.TomiT14 wrote:If Warped doesn't count, and the summer of 2009 tour with The Offspring wasn't their headlining tour, I'd say the last time they had proper tour in North America was in spring 2008.Bobby Skumfuk James wrote:when was the last American/Candian tour they did?
Re: Sum 41 in Italy, February 2011
Well yeah, I mean it's been a while since they went to North America for a headlining show, but keep in mind:
The European shows they did weren't really headlining shows. At least not the ones in Belgium. It took a long time to get them back over there: 7 years. 7 years, and I've been a fan since like 10 or 11 years. They didn't do a Chuck-show (well... they cancelled it) and they didn't do a UH-show (they only played like 6 shows or something in Europe that tour).
So, the European shows made up for that, imo. And I can only be thankful to them for doing that.

Re: Sum 41 in Italy, February 2011
Well, the European In Your Pants (first part) wasn't really a headlining tour, yeah, they played some festivals (Give It a Name, Groezrock) and small dates (like that Duisberg one that was streamed over the net) that were no more than like 45 mins a set.
But the second part of the European In Your Pants (the rescheduled dates) were actually all headlining, those sold out Czech shows, the Russian dates, etc, and Eastpak was headlining, and now there's this 2011 headlining tour, probably in support of the album finally.

Re: Sum 41 in Italy, February 2011
The headlining dates were probably because they've never been to those countries before, or at least not much at all.
I agree with you on the Eastpak Tour, but again... One Belgian headlining show in 7 years is peanuts, while comparing it to the US-ones.

Re: Sum 41 in Italy, February 2011
Yeah, when you put it that way it does seem like a small amount of time compared to places in Europe. I think it was their first time going to Poland on the Eastpak Tour? Anyway, I thought it was great for both the fans, to have a chance to see Sum 41 and for the band, to have the chance to get more exposure in Europe.
