yeah I liked day 8's info...I also like that the piano and acoustic are being used again, but like Hentaiman, I think the sound will be different

Woah, serious update. Nice to get some real info.

The clip where Deryck is playing piano and singing looks promising, I hope he has written piano & vocals only -song but hmm, the first chord progression played on piano sounds weird or atleast it doesn't sound sad =''(

I really don't understand this sentence, lol. But, 14 songs sounds great. I hope most of them are over 3 minutes and are heavy/ aggresive.

He means that he hopes the Cone writes the Bass, Steveo writes the drums and Tom writes the guitar for the songs instead of Deryck writing everything.

Hmm well that was one bad sentence. What I meant to say is that I hope that this album includes a slow song, without any other instrument than piano.

I agree. I want more songs like 'Slipping Away'.

Haha, I hope so too!

No, but I agree with Samuel, it would be cool to hear a piano-based song by Deryck instead of him using it as "filler" to make the song sound full (ie. Walking Disaster intro, The Jester bridge). Fourteen songs sounds like a good amount. Hopefully that doesn't include intros, joke songs, or hidden tracks. That would just mean less actual (and potentially good) songs.

I would think that a "slow" song would be out of place on the new 41 record. They've always been about melodic songs that feature multiple layers (particularly vocals) and the idea of them recording a straight-up slow song with one singer and one instrument sounds incredibly...boring. A song like Pieces is about as good as it gets, as far as being called "slow" and I think Deryck loves writing music that is not only personal, but musically interesting as well!

I think Slipping Away was really awesome but it would have been even more awesome without the drums and with a real piano line.

So we'll actually hear someone else singing other than Deryck? That'd be cool!

(I base my expectations on the clip where it shows a writing of "Vox Derek" and "Vox Tom".)

I wouldn't expect too much.. Maybe some gang vocals like No Reason's "Hey's", but that's it.
