Getting it off my chest...

Post by LTS »

Okay, here it is:

I don't even really like Sum 41 anymore..

I'm not looking forward to an album, and won't buy it when it comes out ( I'll jus pirate it...)
sum 41 is no longer my favorite band, thy aren't even in the top 10 anymore.

I think underclass hero is a crappy album, and they havnt made anything good since Dave left...

Does anyone else feel this way?

I've always had some downtimes, especially when there's a long gap between the albums.
There could be months without listening a single song by them.

But I've never really stopped loving them. Especially when the new album is coming out, I start to listen to the older songs even more. And when the album comes out, I don't listen anything else for a long time. :)

They are my clear #1 favourite band, even though not always #1 on my playlist.

I feel they sold out a while back, and te greatest hit album ws just the nail to drive it home.

No ban should put out a greatest hits album, unless it's free. That's just a way to leech money out of fans. It's all te songs you've already heard but at a higher price.

Plus you should wait until you have 10 albums for a greatest hits album

Well I agree with you with this greatest hits compilation. Way too early for Sums to release it. Especially when the new album was already in the works.

Sum 41 are still my favourite band, I do go through patches of dislike though. I also agree that Underclass Hero sucks but I still love Sum 41!

Well, Deryck said himself that it was up to him he would've waited with this greatest hits album. It was the label's decision.

exactly what i feel
Children of the beast embrace,
To scorn and the human race,
Consume the light that hugs the earth,
And aid the womb in giving birth,
To a group that will appear,
And guide you through this final year,
The dark armies then will come,
When the sum is 41

Ok I haven't posted here in a while, but this topic made me reply!

First off let me say, everyone has their own opinion.

You don't like Sum 41 anymore and that's fine with me, but I will never stop listening to Sum 41. They mean way too much to me. Deryck has had many of the same problems as I have, and I feel that his lyrics really speaks to me especially in Underclass Hero.

You might have a band like that, but mine is Sum 41. I do agree with you on the Greatest Hits, but I read somewhere that Deryck didn't want to release it for some reason, but it was the music industry that wanted them to release it.

So like I said, you can hate and stop listening to Sum 41, but I'll never stop listening to them.

Sum 41 isn't my number 1 favourite band. I'm not sure if I even have one. But I still love Sum 41 very much. I haven't really listened to them for a while, but I know that I'll start listening to them more again at some point. When I get into some band and listen to them a lot I always get a little "bored" eventually and then not listen to them much for a while. Then after I've had a little break I usually get back into them again.

Actually I change my mind about not having a favourite band. Sum 41 and Blink-182 are my two favourite bands. I do love many other bands too, but Sum and Blink will always come first to me.

I'm just kind of tired of pop-punk in general. I stopped listening to sum 41, blink 182, and early green day.

The greatest hits was a label move.

UH was a good album, i go on and off it but it has some stand out tracks that never get old.

Im not gona make any asumptions about how good the stuff theyve put out since dave is, because there has only been 1 album so far.

Its all well and good to say that Sum 41 have sold out (which i dont realy thing is true but anyway) and that UH is a crappy album, but how many of you have toured as long as they have or put out an album better than UH? show of hands anyone

*Puts up hand*

Also, that is such a cop-out statement. Whether or not someone can do something better than someone else does not stop that person from having an opinion.
