I am an American, therefore, I speak English... as should everyone else that lives in my Country.

One thing that bothers me is running into people in my own Country, that live here, who hardly know a word of English. I understand wanting to talk to your family and friends in any language, but when I can't go up to you and ask you a question unless I want to be greeted with a blank stare, you just shouldn't be living here.

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea that people move here from other countries, and I love being very diverse, but that shit just bothers me.

English, german, Swedish. Fairly fluent. Latin - Not a spoken language. but good at it.

Spanish and Dutch - not so bad.

Russian - Bits and pieces.

I'm American from a English speaking family so I only can fluently speak English, unlike some Americans. I am learning Spanish, but my teacher pretty much sucks. For some reason, in 1st grade they taught French(very basic)?!?! I live in the Southeast, most don't speak English they speak redneck-English or improper English. I wish I grew up with another language so that it wouldn't be so hard to learn it properly.
