I think what he means is connect your guitar in your computer's/laptop's line-in port, I'm not to experenced with Macs, but typically the line-in should be marked as blue.
I'm pretty sure the microphone port will work too. You will most likely need a 3.5mm cable with a 6.5mm Jack for you guitar.
