Re: A Deryck Interview
I can basically understand it but it would be good if there was an English version.
I hate it when TV stations put a translation on top instead of subtitles.

Re: A Deryck Interview
Here you go guys, I'm not that good at translation, so sorry if I messed up a bit.
PART I: CHUCK
This album is a mix of different music styles, it's something we've always wanted to do.
When we wrote it there were so many different emotions and feelings.
It's kind of an ambiance album, it can be dark but also violent and then softer, or faster.
teher were so many emotions while writing it that it came out in the CD.
This record is most of a ll a mix of everythying we've done before, it's melodic and at the same time aggressive, it's hard,it's soft.
Everything we've always wanted to do, we've put it together and it became a new style.
It's what we had tried to do with our album before this one, but we didn't know how to do it.
The only directive was not to repeat ourselves, do something different.
It came naturally, we didn't have a former idea.
We did what came out and it made this album.
PART II: CONGO
It's a long story, basically us and the organisation War Child, whose goal is to travel the world and help the people affected by war, we decided to go to Congo in Africa, to make a documentary about the civil war that has been going on there since 1998.
It's the worst war in Africas history, more than 3.500.000 people died.
So there were soldiers, not from teh army but rebels, who are between 10 and 16 years old, and they're not organized, they're rebels and many are young alcoholics who kill each other and rape women.
Young girls of 10 years are raped.
It's really a devastating story.
After about 7 days, teh war started again, and we were in the middle of that war.
Two groups of rebels were battling on the street, and our hotel was right in the middle.
So we spent to day with 45 persons in a room as big as this one, lying on the floor with our hands on our head, and it was only a few meters away from all the bobmbs that smashed all the windows.
It's the worst thing we've ever experienced.
We thought we were gonna die, so we're still a bit shocked about it.
PART III: POLITICS
The first song in wich we first politically committed ourselves was Still Waiting on our previous album.
It was a turn for us because we started to change adn have beliefs and opinions on things.
It was a bit more than partying and having fun.
We try not to be too political in our songs, but we want to be aware and realistic.
It's something that comes with age I guess because when we started we were only 18 or 20 years old.
We didn't care about anything.
But when you get older, you've got no excuse to be stupid anymore.
We always thought that bush was wrong, from the beginning.
I remember when we were recording All Killer No Filler during the elections in Florida and he won them.
After a while we understoof that it was a wrong choice.
Well it wasn't even a choice, that's what I regret, it's that he stole these elctiosn just like he did the first time.
I wish he was elected in a legal way this time, but he'll probably find a way around it.
PART IV: IMAGE
We don't really pay attention to our image.
We are who we are, and whatever image we carry , it's real.
People can think what tehy want, love or not love what we do.
But in the end, we don't care.
Videos are fun, we love doing that,it's another way to be creative.
We just try to take pleasuer in it, we focus on what we really wanan do and as soon as tehre's an idea we go for it.
I don't really pay attention to clichés or what people think.
It doesn't change anything about my life so I don't care about it.
I mean, I don't check out what people say about us, I don't read our interviews, I don't care about it.
I know what I've said and I often say the same things, I don't need to hear it again.
I just stay away from all taht and focus on the music and the shows.
PART V: FANS
We've always been very close to our fans, from the start we meet them and organize meetings et cetera.
I like walking aroudn before the shows, just to see what they're like, sometimes I meet them.
We'er pretty easy to access actually.
Especially in japan we get tons of presents.
Japanese fans aer awesome and most if them have been there from the beginning.
they deserve credit because we constantly change our style,we always want to surprise fans so we probably lose some of them on our way to it.
But they're mostly open to changes.
When the record comes out we'll be going on tour and we will sure come back to France often.
We've never been this excited to play our new songs.
France is one of our favourite places since we started so we're realy excited to come back again.

He's talking about the image of the band, not what he looks like. Face it, you lose. (lol, jk)d4rkst4r wrote:ahahahahah I was right about deryck doesn't care at all.

I've seen pictures of Deryck wandering around before the show. Usually he's like around the busses and goes into view of the fans. They are pretty easy to access.

Re: A Deryck Interview
ye I know he was talking about the band. The only time I've seen videos of him walking around are at radio shows which is different because has anyone here at TNS seen deryck walking around before a show, I haven't but then again I've only been to 1 show.Phili wrote:He's talking about the image of the band, not what he looks like.
