I think covering the bass drum like that ensures that the mic only picks up the sound of the bass drum and not the cymbals and snare aswell. It provides a clearer bass drum sound, I'm guessing. If that's correct and they're doing more stuff like this, then the album will probably be their best sounding album yet. And that makes me excited.

Just finished a fast one fun one on Bass. Now going to pour a glass of red wine and go for a ballad next.

Red Wine!!!! RED fucking Wine... Ahhhhhhh, Cone what has become of you. No wine... Huge massive bottle of absinthe, Jägermeister, Vodka even a bottle of whiskey but no red wine :(

I know man, what the hell is up with bands these days drinking red wine? Green Day drank two bottles of it before recording Foxboro Hot Tubs, Blink-182 was drinking it during a Fuse interview in 2004 and Sum 41 seems to drink it a lot now as well.
