Anyone who records their own music have any recommendations for microphones?

It'll be for vocal recordings..I'm thinking about a large diaphragm condenser mic but I really have no experience with microphones at all.

Yeah LDC is good for vocals. Problem with getting a vocal mic is pretty much no one sings like anyone else. One mic will be brilliant for a male vocalist with a lowish voice and suck for a female or another guy with a higher voice, so you've just gotta try stuff out really...but as a beginner you're not going to notice too much anyway.
Anything with a decent reputation in the $250-500 range is going to be a pretty good mic all round, just don't buy something shit for $50 to start out because it'll sound horrible and screechy and put you off recording.

I was looking for something right around the ones you listed! I've gone to the Guitar Center and Sam Ash stores around here and they seem focused on trying to tell you what you need rather than actually listen to what you say, it drives me crazy! I have a pre-amp that provides phantom power fortunately.
