learn the pentatonic scales. that's what every rock solo is based around, like ACDC etc. and from there you can basically improvise and mess around and that's how for example sum 41 would've written their solos. dave would've just messed around the pentatonic scale adding minor or major notes in etc...

I still can't believe that they just went into the studio this month! Or at least from what I remember, it was going to be this month. Oh well, as for Sum 41, new single is closer than ever. Maybe they'll release it once they start Warped and that will be the "new material" that they play...

why would you want to know what deryck's rig is? he doesn't really have a distinct sound or anything

maybe a song would be ok but the album name would be weird as that. it sounds like something a death metal band would have and it sounds really cliché or something haha. mind you, if the album is good i won't think too much about the album name.
